Phillips Consulting Limited’s first day of work, was on 2nd October 1992 – a day after the annual celebration of Nigeria’s independence. The founder Foluso Phillips is a Chartered Accountant of the UK. Having spent the previous seven years with Coopers & Lybrand in London, he decided to create a consultancy practice in Nigeria which which would emulate the discipline and culture of his London professional life.

Our first assignment was a series of training engagements for a range of financial institutions. We pioneered the Total Quality Management (TQM) methodology in Nigeria, becoming a key symbol of the quality of our service offering. TQM has become a powerful philosophy, which we have deployed successfully in many organisations. It has also become a way of life for all our consultants and employees.

Our TQM people-focused work led to opportunities to assist organisations in dealing with their implementation challenges. The “arrival” of the customer as the undisputed king gave credence to TQM and helped extend our focus into strategy. We came to realise very quickly that the make-up of an organisation must revolve around the things you want to do and be to your customer.

Today, Phillips Consulting offers a broad range of consulting services to some Africa’s most successful commercial organisations.
