Finance & Accounting for Non-Finance Professionals
As more people with little or no knowledge of accounting attain decision-making positions in their organisations, the need for them to have more than a passing knowledge of accounting increases. At the minimum, they need not be overawed by the information in a financial statement and should be able to preside over their ‘all-knowing’ subordinates who may have formal grounding in accounting.
This course will provide participants with knowledge and skills to read, understand and use financial statements and other financial reports, for reporting to shareholders and executives in decision-making, planning and evaluating the business.
What will be covered?
• Introduction of Financial Accounting and Reporting
• Accounting Principles
• The Accounting Equation
• Reading, understanding and interpreting an Annual Report
• Indices of performance, liquidity and solvency
• Financial statement-based Ratios/Analyses
• Statement of Value Added
Target Audience
Senior executives, company owners and entry-level officers in the finance sector lacking accounting knowledge, but need to make informed use of corporate financial statements and reports.
